Editorial Policy

The guides on BoltCompress exist to help people solve real problems with video files. This page explains how they are written and kept accurate.

Who writes the guides

Guides are published under the name of Esteban Ortiz, the founder of BoltCompress, who reviews every guide before it goes live and is responsible for its accuracy.

How facts are checked

  • Platform limits (WhatsApp, Discord, email providers, and others) are checked against the official help pages or announcements of each service.
  • Technical claims about codecs and settings are checked against encoder documentation and, where possible, tested with FFmpeg.
  • Claims about BoltCompress itself describe what the service actually does, including its limitations. See how it works.
  • Numbers like file sizes and bitrates are worked out with the formula shown in the guide, so readers can verify them.

Updates and dates

Every guide shows when it was first published. When a guide is revised in a meaningful way (a changed limit, a corrected fact, new steps), it also shows the date of the update. We do not change dates without changing content. Platform limits on the upload limits page show when they were last checked.

Independence

BoltCompress is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no influence on what we write, and we do not accept payment for mentions or recommendations. When a guide recommends our own tool, it also explains when another approach (a cloud link, a different app) is the better choice.

Corrections

If you find an error or an outdated limit, email support@boltcompress.com. We fix confirmed mistakes promptly and update the guide's revision date.
